Drove to this place all the way from solvang to buy rare kind of cymbidium since I’ve been collecting pricy rare beautiful ones through the years from Pacific orchids expo. San Francisco Their website shows beautiful orchids so I made this trip on Friday and they’re gonna close by 2 pm . Arrived to this nursery Door was open and noticed that some of the areas with orchids were cordoned and there were about 3-4 people sitting chatting but never acknowledged me or say anything so after walking around I told an Asian guy that I’m want to buy some Cymbidium orchids . He just shakes his head and mouth something The orchids here are pretty dried up In small pots not healthy looking Why advertised online if the vendors aren’t interested in selling or have the courtesy in talking to customers This practice is very rude .Dont waste your time coming to this nursery

The people who work here are incredibly informative on orchids. They are very kind and helpful. If you’re willing to slow down and take the time to learn from them, you will have a great time. These orchids need great care, you’ll be happy to have the knowledge they teach you. Not sure why other reviews said these guys weren’t helpful…Alice and her father were so patient with Sean and I. We just kind of hung around for 30 minutes after our purchases. Chatting about plants. It was a lovely afternoon. When we got home we immediately transferred these lovelies into their new homes.Thank you Santa Barbara Orchid Estate, we’ll be back!!!

A must visit place for orchid lovers. Weather you just want to enjoy the beauties or take some home with you this is the perfect destination. The people are awesome and you needn’t worry if you know nothing about taking care of orchids. They will educate you, help you choose the right one for you taking into consideration your home environment, climate and your gardening skills. They have open house on sundays so go enjoy

Warning: Could Cause Severe Orchid Addiction. I like orchids..... maybe not passionate about them.....but if I lived near Santa Barbara Orchid Estate, it might become an addiction. Prices are quite reasonable for some beautiful specimens, starting around $25 and going way up for rare, one-of-a-kind plants. It's worth a shopping trip..... we picked up 3 for the road trip home.

Amazing experience, we did go here because my GF loves orchids, in a big way, the staff let us peruse at our leisure for hours, at the end of the day we had a whole selection to "check out" by the front desk. This is a place for people who are into the flowers. the staff are growers, and not hipsters, so definitely more on the eclectic side of the places we have been to.. but in a very good way. Highly Recommended.
